Go to a performance

On May 1st, I went to a performance with my classmate Willa. The performance was a piano recital. The pianist is called Shen Wenyu. I choose to watch this performance because I started learn piano when I was five years old. Every year, my parents take me to the piano recitals. He was born in a civilian family. He started learn piano when he was six years old. Shen Wenyu is known as “Second Mozart”, He is a piano genius, because there is no piano music can daunted him.
He is different from other pianists. He adapted famous Chinese opera Red River by himself. Many people can play the piano very well, but small number of people can adapt the music by them, and make the music have other feeling. During the show, I listened very carefully. Shen Wenyu put his emotion into the music. Some songs made me feel sick at heart, and I wanted to tear.
Admiring this piano recital is a good way to improve my perception of music, and encourage me greater effort to learn piano. Though playing the piano just my hobby not my career, I think I should more hard-working.

Participate in a Service Activity organized by a GCA teacher

On April 11th, I learned how to cook western food from a French student who named Max. He taught me how to cook Crapes. We used milk, eggs, oil, flour, sugar, and salt. First, we put them together in a pot, mixed them until uniform. Then, we waited for thirty minutes. At last, we used saucepan to fry. This event was organized by our Planning teacher Ms. Bartell.

Act in a performance

Before 2008 Spring Festival, my mother held a party with her staff members in Shang Jian Hotel. The host invited my classmate Willa, Eleanor and I to give a performance. In that afternoon after school, we all felt a little neverous. The party began at five o'clock. On the way to the hotel, we practised again and again. The porformance was to sing a song named When you're gone. At the very beginning, I did an introduce about us, and our school. Then, we started the song. Because this is an English song, some audience were not very interested in our porformance. However, they thought we sing the song very well. A fly in the ointment, we did

not have enough time to practise, so when we sang the song, we used paper and sell phones to to remind us do not forget lyrics.

From this experience, I learned that I must try my best to do everything, and prepare carefully. Spectators' opinion is very important, and during the performance, I should look their eyes or face to show my smile. Just do it, believe myself can do better.

Volunteer work part 2

In term three, I did different volunteer work. These experiences left me with a deep impression and the wealth of valuable.
In March, our class went to Beijing East Road Primary School with our Planning teacher Ms. Bartell. Our goals were to teach grade five primary school students how to play UNO cards. I think it was a great challenge for me, because this was the first time to teach child. To be a teacher, I must try my best to make my student happy, and promise that she knows all the new vocabularies and masters the game method. As a primary school student, it is different to learn and remember all the vocabularies. However, my student who named Marry is a very beautiful and clever girl. Through I just taught her the pronunciation and the meaning few times, she could remember all the words, and read very well. These vocabularies are：hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades, skip, and so on. I think Marry did a very good job. Next, we should teach how to play. The rule is very sample, and they could know how to play within three minutes. We should made cards for these primary school students by ourselves, and these cards looked wonderful. We decided to make a big group to play. In our group, there are six people. Yuki, Iris, their students, Marry, and I. As primary school student, they just little girls. Sometimes, they could not control themselves very well. They were so excited, and shouting. However, it was in class. So, we should play with them, and told them to clam down at the same time. Time flies when you have fun, I send the cards to Marry before I leave, and say goodbye to each other. Maybe this was the first time to teach her, also the last time to see her, but I will remember that day for a long time.
Also, our school held a Fashion Show on April 27th. My volunteer job was responsible for madding curtain with my classmate Sandy. The curtain is a big black cloth. We should use paper to make some words on it. It was not easy, because the size of the cloth. Though we had different ideas, but we can deal with that consistent. We drew draft first, then cut them out, and print. We used a lot of colors and did a great job.
From these volunteer experiences, I learned that if we want to do something very well, we should do at all costs. Sometimes, it is necessary to change our mind to make a better idea, and never give up.

Japanese food(Ajisen Ramen)

On March 10, I went to a Japanese restaurant with my parents. The restaurant is called “Ajisen Ramen”. The style of decoration is also Japanese style. There were some murals on the wall, and the Content is about Japan's sumo.
In some ways, Japanese cuisine is similar to Chinese food. So, I like ramen very much. Some ramen is spicy; it is loved by Chinese people. Japanese also like seafood. So, we chose Squid Series to eat. They are very delicious and fragrant, and a lot of guests ordered them. I think nobody can deny them. It is very interesting that the “tea” is made of kelp. I can not accept this kind of tea. It tests very fishy, and looks like muddy.
My favorite Japanese cuisine is sushi. It looks very different. Everyone can accord their own taste to arrange in groups
Food can reflect the culture of the country. In fact, food is also a kind of cultural.We should use heart to feel.

GO TO EXHIBITION WITH MY FRIENDS

On March 7th I went to JIANGSU PROVINCIAL ART MUSEUM with Willa, Eleanor, and Sandy.
The museum is free. However, it looks very gorgeous. It built in 1936, and it is the first contemporary art museum in China. There are some trees in front of the gate. When we went into the museum, four big Calligraphy Chinese words on the wall“厚德载物”. It means that if people have great moral, they can get more.
All the artworks are written by a student from Nanjing Foreign Language School. He can write Calligraphy very well, and he got a lot of prize in some matches. As a Chinese, I think our calligraphy is very difficult to write, because there are a number of fonts in Chinese calligraphy. He could write running hand, italics, Oracle, and so on. The writer wants to write very well, he must practice so many years and love to write.

No pain no gain. He is not a genius. Chinese people say: “Performing one minute on the state, you must use ten years to practice in peacetime.” So, if we want to be successful, we should do everything carefully and hard-working. The most important thing is to love them.

VOLUNTEER WORK DESCRIPTION

I did three different work during thhese ten hours in the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre.They are: Imported the data into the computer, took my cousin round the memorial hall,tole her the history, and help vistors to keep their bag.

I want to grateful to The Memorial hall of the Victims in Nangjing Massacre for providing this volunteer work chance for me.

I learned that when I import the data into the computer, I need to find the best way or shortuct to improve the work efficiency. For example, I according to the first letter of different words to out them together, or in the light of time, place and events to import. Also, if I had some problems, I always ask for other people who have experience. Then, I will make inferences by an alogy Observe carefully os absolutely necessary, look more about other people how to do, I can start from imitate until I can do my work skill, I will use my own way to do and create better ways. Also, this was the first time I helped visitors to keep bags. I needed to edit number every bag, and gave the number to the visitors.

I am willing to go to The Memorial Hall to be the volunteer if I have free time.

VOLUNTEER WORK ONE(Sentiment)

The place of my volunteer work in The Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre. This Memorial Hall has the important social position in the world. When I was a child, I already known the history about Nanjing Massacre. So, I choice do something for The Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre.

The most heinous slaughter began when Nanjing fell on December 13, 1937. Thousangds of disarmed and wounded sodiers whom they had captured, as well as refugees and civilians, were tied up and marched off to the Zhongshan wharf, Straw Sandals Gorge,Hanhong Gate. They were forced to line against or kneddl down before the Yantze River, the Qinghuai River and the city wall and shot by machine-guns. To ensure there were no survivors, the Japanese soldier used their bayonet to stab ruthlessly the bodies of the falling men or threw straw doused with kerosence into the river and burned them all death. Thecity soon became a hell wuty blood and tears. As a Chinese, as a Nanjing people, I must remember this histroy, and do something to pary for peace, to maintain peace.

I think I must use my practical action to help all the people know that we should respect history. As victims, Chinese people can not think we need to make reprisals, it can not make our countory more strong. What can we do? We should bear of the history in mind, and let the shame as our driving force..

Bear in mind the history, do not forget national humiliation.
